Work at the Trestle

Heritage installation featuring figure portrait of T.T. Vernon Smith, civil engineer and builder of the Windsor and Annapolis Railway
Trestles and 3 D map show area of damage following the Saxby Gale of 1869, including journal entries and historic information
Waterfront Park, Wolfville, Nova Scotia
I imagined Vernon Smith throwing together an emergency workstation. He pores over his
map, agonizing over miles of new railway lines washed out to sea by the Saxby Gale of 1869.
I included portions of Vernon's handwriting, transferred from his engineering journals.
